Two Turkish officials said that Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will visit Turkey for talks with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on November 24, in an attempt to repair strained relations.
This is what the Reuters news agency reported. A Turkish official also said that Erdogan and bin Zayed will discuss bilateral relations, trade, regional developments and investments.
The second official said the visit was "an important development to improve regional relations and ease tensions."
The UAE Foreign Ministry declined to comment after a request from Reuters.
The agency was unable to obtain a response from the Turkish presidency.
The announcement of the upcoming visit came after a contact between Erdogan and bin Zayed last August, and after receiving an Emirati delegation headed by Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser to the UAE, in the same month.
