The UAE celebrates Flag Day on the 3rd of November every year, as an expression of pride in the Union Flag as a symbol of brotherhood and patriotism.
The celebration comes in response to the invitation of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for institutions, ministries, authorities and schools to participate in raising the state flag on the flagpole at the same time .
On this day, the UAE citizens, residents and institutions raise the flag, decorating buildings, ministries, authorities, federal and local departments and government and private companies, to reflect the cohesion of the people of the UAE and residents on its land under the banner of the flag, and consolidate the unity of goals and principles to preserve the nation's achievements and gains, and it is also an occasion to renew the determination to continue The march of work and giving for the elevation and progress of the nation, so that the flag of the UAE always flutters high among nations and peoples.
The national occasion is an opportunity to express belonging and loyalty to the state, wise leadership and adherence to the values and principles inherited from the founding fathers, and an occasion to embody ambitions and highlight achievements.
The Flag Day aims to connect members of society in a joint community activity that emphasizes the unity of efforts to serve the nation, raise its flag, and raise the sense of patriotism between Emiratis and residents on the country’s land, which confirms their loyalty and belonging and the solidarity of the people of the UAE to express their support and appreciation for the pioneering development process.
This initiative is also keen on consolidating a set of values, foremost of which is the value of national unity and organizing the work of all segments of society in its various sects for the sake of the state, in addition to raising the value of the union on the basis that the flag of the federal state is the basic identity of the state, as well as the fusion of individual interests in the public interest, as The UAE is the first Arab country to celebrate the flag on its own national occasion.
